For more than 30 years Wieden+Kennedy has been writing, drawing, filming and coding stories to share with the world. Simple, memorable stories that have changed the way people think about sport or feel about a city. It's with this in mind that they’ve announced a new initiative: Sharp Stuff
The explosion of publishing platforms and the growth of participatory formats brings new opportunities for creative storytelling. Sharp Stuff will explore the boundaries of storytelling, including new creative forms stories can take, as well as how they can live and spread dynamically. Like many of their experiments, W+K hopes that will allow them to build new relationships with the communities they reside in, as well as help shape the ever-evolving industry.
Sharp Stuff’s first release (print and e-book) will be American Dreamers, expected out in November 2012. Tapping the optimists, mavericks and mad inventors who believe we can create a better world, American Dreamers will be a collection of stories, essays, art, hacks, games and interviews that explore and share our dreams for a brighter future. The team will be accepting submissions (firstname.lastname@example.org
) through the end of the month for any interested participants.
