Anoushka Shankar and Alex Heffes soundtrack for 'A Suitable Boy' has been nominated for Best Television Soundtrack
A huge congratulations to Anoushka Shankar and Alex Heffes whose soundtrack for 'A Suitable Boy' has been nominated for Best Television Soundtrack at The Ivors Academy IVORS 2021.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 21st September.
A Suitable Boy, directed by Mira Nair and first broadcast in August 2020, follows four linked families in North India including Mrs Rupa Mehra who is in search of a suitable husband for her youngest daughter Lata.
Anoushka writes: 'Mira told me that she felt my style would be a good fit for A Suitable Boy. She wanted music that had a strong Indian sound but also a global sensibility. I was honoured to be asked but was a bit doubtful about timings as I was meant to be touring at the time. Of course, the lockdown changed things. Then, she suggested I work with Alex Heffes, which was wonderful. Together, we were able to achieve her vision'.
