A good gin is fit for a queen—a great gin is named for one. Throughout history, there were none quite like Britain’s Queen Victoria. That’s partly what makes Victoria Gin, Canada’s first premium gin, so special: it’s named after one of the most unique matriarchs in history.
This spot for the spirited namesake brand, created by Toronto-based Entrinsic and directed by Christopher Wahl, raises a glass to Queen Victoria, recounting her reign with some truly unexpected (yet entirely true) facts: She ruled the British Empire at 18 while still living with her mum; she married her first cousin and had nine children; she was almost assassinated seven times. To top it all off, she also gave Canadians a much welcome long weekend in May -Victoria Day—and that’s worth celebrating in itself.
Wahl also shot the print campaign, which will launch later in 2014. Victoria Gin is handmade in small bathes with a gleaming copper pot still by Victoria Spirits, a family-owned distillery in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
