The merger will strengthen Whitespace's technology and commerce capabilities

Leading Edinburgh creative agency Whitespace is joining Isobar, the global digital agency across 45 markets. The agency will be called ‘Whitespace, an Isobar company’ and will continue to be led by joint managing partners, Iain Valentine and Phillip Lockwood-Holmes. The partnership will further power Isobar UK’s creative, experience and innovation offering, and the Whitespace team will be strengthened by Isobar UK’s strategic technology and commerce capabilities.

Iain Valentine, Whitespace managing partner said, “Today brands need a wide blend of skills to create campaigns and experiences that meet customer expectations and deliver results. We are really excited to join Isobar’s growing global family, after becoming part of Dentsu last year. Creativity underpins everything Isobar do, so we see a clear cultural fit and opportunity to grow our team and what we can do for clients.”

This partnership will unlock an end-to-end solution for clients in the UK market specifically, delivering Marketing, Commerce, Consulting and Products and Service Design offerings in the market and across Europe. Whitespace complements the network through its brand strategy, creative, UX, content marketing and digital expertise, and will partner closely with Isobar UK in London, which has strong commerce, innovation and technology capabilities.

Jean Lin, Isobar Global CEO said: “This is the next step for Isobar’s growing team in the UK. It brings together our globally recognised Commerce and Technology team in London with a hugely talented team in Scotland - creating a powerful solution for clients who need to transform themselves in the face an increased reliance on experience to differentiate their brands.”

To celebrate the coming together of the teams, Whitespace has opened a ‘NowLab’ for clients, a space to make, experiment, prototype and workshop innovative business solutions. It will become part of Isobar’s global NowLab initiative and accelerator that fosters a culture of innovation and is already across 22 locations in America, Europe and Asia.

Based in Edinburgh, the leading creative agency was acquired by Dentsu Aegis Network in 2018. The award- winning 70-strong team services clients including The Scottish Government, Aegon, VisitScotland, The Royal Academy of Music and Wood.
