At iProspect, we believe that our employees are more than just their job titles. They're talented, multifaceted individuals with unique interests and hobbies that make them who they are. Many of our employees possess a unique trademark - a special skill or interest that is exclusive to them, making them stand out in their own way. It's what we like to call their 'IP'.

In this edition of "What's Your IP," we sit down with Livia Fontana, senior manager, paid search at iProspect. By day, she excels in her role, driving results and optimizing paid search campaigns. However, outside of work, Livia is a passionate musical theater performer, bringing characters to life on stage and captivating audiences with her talent. Read on to learn more about Livia's journey, her favourite role, and how she balances her artistic pursuits with her career at iProspect.

Q> How did you start pursuing your interest?

Livia> I started pursuing my interest in acting and singing from a very young age. Despite people thinking it was just a childhood phase, I was determined to pursue it seriously. At the age of 13, I began taking acting classes, and that same year, I had a transformative experience watching a musical that made me realize my passion for musical theater. Over the years, I took voice lessons as well as tap dance classes, participated in school productions, auditioned for various opportunities, all while building my 15 year career in digital marketing in parallel. However, in 2018, I decided to fully commit to my passion for musical theater and went to New York to study and perform, where I got a scholarship to attend the 1 year Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre at the New York Film Academy. It has been an incredible journey of growth and exploration.

Q> What was your favourite role you've ever played?

Livia> My favourite role that I have played would have to be Paulette from Legally Blonde. In the movie, she is the manicurist, and Jennifer Coolidge played the character. She is a beloved and it is a hilarious role. Making people laugh and discovering my comedic side was a wonderful experience. I remember coming out on stage right before the lead and giving my bow. It felt so wonderful to play such a distinguished role.

Q> Have you ever turned your interest into a side hustle or business opportunity?

Livia> Yes, after returning to theater in 2016  (a few years after dedicating my life to my Digital Marketing career only), I started taking it more seriously and landed roles in several musicals, including Legally Blonde, The Little Mermaid, and Rent. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work on commercials which was a proud moment for me. One commercial I did became a huge success, reaching millions of viewers on YouTube. It was unexpected but incredibly rewarding.

Q> What is the most memorable moment you’ve had related to your interest?

Livia> There have been many memorable moments in my journey, but the time I spent in New York studying and performing musical theater stands out the most. It was a wild and intense year filled with ups and downs, but being able to fulfill my dream of performing on a New York stage was truly magical. Being part of the cast of Legally Blonde, especially in a significant role, was a dream come true. The whole experience taught me resilience and it marked a significant turning point in my career where I started to pursue comedic roles.

Q> What makes the company culture at iProspect unique?

Livia> The company culture at iProspect stands out due to its emphasis on freedom and flexibility. When I returned to iProspect in 2019, after pursuing my passion for theater, I found the company provided the freedom for me to continue pursuing my interests outside of work. For example, I was able to audition and participate in a commercial while still working at iProspect. The team was accommodating and understanding, allowing me to balance both my professional and artistic endeavors, especially during busy times like when I was working at IP and performing “Rent” at night as Johanne. This flexibility and support make iProspect's culture unique and conducive to personal growth.

Q> What does a typical workday look like for you?

Livia> Before my pregnancy, a typical workday for me involved waking up early, around 5:30 or 6 a.m., as I'm a morning person. After breakfast, I would engage in physical activity such as playing beach tennis or going to the gym. Then, I would start my workday, typically ahead of my colleagues in different time zones, which provided coverage throughout the day. A notable aspect of our culture in Brazil is taking a leisurely one-hour lunch, often spent with my mom. Additionally, I would take a 20-minute power nap in the afternoon, which rejuvenated me and enhanced my productivity. Working from home allowed me to incorporate these personal routines, improving my overall well-being.
