'Love Mom' is a short film from Tomorrow director Andrew Wonder in honour of Mother’s Day (in the US). For the project, Andrew used an interrotron to interview Moms (including his own), but with a twist: they didn't know their children were listening.
"There is a point in your life when you realise that each moment with your mother is more precious than the last," says Andrew. "It's usually right around the point you realise they are human and they did their best with you. After my sister's wedding I realised that my mother and I had never actually spent meaningful time alone, so I decided to change that. Since then, our relationship has been full of long conversations and sharing stories.
"As we spoke more I realised how differently the two of us have seen so many of the same things. With Mother's Day coming I thought this film could be an opportunity to explore what I learned about our relationship and share that same gift with the other families who participated.
"I hope the film allows people to take a moment to think about/remember/send some love to your mother (or be celebrated yourself). Happy Mother's Day to you all and your families. Love ‘em while you got ‘em."
