We Are Social Appoints Suzie Shaw as New Managing Director in Australia

Global agency We Are Social has appointed advertising and media veteran Suzie Shaw to the role of managing director, Australia. Her appointment is effective 15 June.
Shaw takes up the role following a successful 14-year international career with some of the UK’s leading creative and integrated agencies, including TBWA and Engine. Most recently she held the position CEO of Sydney based agency Host, prior to which he was managing director.
Shaw is a strong strategic and creative thinker with extensive comms and marketing experience across a broad range of industry categories including financial services, travel and tourism, FMCG and more.

Passionate about championing the progress of women in leadership and founder of SWIMM Australia (Senior Women in Media and Marketing), Shaw was a finalist in B&T Mad Week 'Women in Media' Awards, named one of The Australian's top 50 Women in Media, featured in Adnews' 40 under 40, and Adnews' 'Women of Influence'. She also sits on The Communications Council board.
Nathan McDonald, co-founder of We Are Social said, “I’m very excited to welcome Suzie to the global We Are Social leadership team. As socially-led marketing becomes more of a priority for clients everywhere, Suzie’s experience across creative, integrated and digital agencies will accelerate the growth of We Are Social in Australia.”

Shaw commented “Social is such an exciting space; it's a real growth area and giving rise to new found creativity, so joining the agency that puts social thinking at the centre of their strategic and creative work is a great opportunity. I can't wait to get stuck in.”

We Are Social worked with Hourigan International on their search for the role.

We Are Social’s managing partner, David Fairfull, has been working alongside co-founder Nathan McDonald as part of the interim management team.

Despite being offered another role, David has now decided to stay within the group to focus on Social CRM, We Are Social’s proprietary software platform for managing, distributing and measuring social and digital content.
