International ideas company WE ARE Pi has announced the appointment of Clare Jones as Managing Director. Jones brings twenty years of experience to the thirty-strong (and 60% female) team that prides itself on its ten nationalities, eleven languages and diverse creative output.
No stranger to working with global independent businesses, Clare’s career includes four years running maverick Sydney-based creative agency, The Monkeys. Managing their advertising, design and product development arms with brands like Intel, Telstra and the Sydney Opera House, Jones led globally acclaimed brand collaborations like that between AirBnb and IKEA, allowing Australian families to spend the night in an IKEA showroom.
Jones knows that creativity and innovation only come from improving the status quo. “I spent four fantastic years learning how to purge old-school advertising habits and flexing into business models that work for the entertainment industry,” states Clare.
As Bennett-Grant moves into a CEO role and oversees the company’s strategic output to drive diversification and development of the group, Jones moves into the Managing Director role across WE ARE Pi and award-winning entertainment arm, Pi Studios.
Alex Bennett-Grant adds, "Clare Jones is a game changer. We knew it the moment we met her. Clare has a fascinating track record designing companies for creative innovation. WE ARE Pi never settles and Clare is a fantastic captain for our pirate ship."
WE ARE Pi has recently gained fresh attention with Desperados Bass Drop experience, the world’s first festival in zero-gravity. With a diverse output, WE ARE Pi’s portfolio includes the co-development of the LEGO Ninjago toy and franchise, creating music festivals for Heineken and Pi Studio’s latest project, a documentary series on the birth of house music developed for Channel 4 Broadcasting in the UK.
WE ARE Pi exists to push boundaries and deliver a fresh perspective and modern alternative for brands. With a progressive view on culture, entertainment and society, WE ARE Pi pushes the boundaries of brand communication through the use of creative storytelling, technology and experiences. “Small businesses can make a surprising amount of noise,” says Jones. “We are excited to partner with brands, publishers and filmmakers who are ready to create really special experiences, beyond the norm of any marketing campaign. We seek adventurous souls who want to learn, grow and embrace the weird in themselves and others.”
