WCRS Christmas Campaign for Stowford Press

Following on from the launch of the first TV ad for Stowford press, WCRS have created a seasonal cross track execution featuring creative linked to the “Press on” TV advert. 

The campaign launches on the 2nd December and runs for two weeks across 22 premier underground sites at key footfall stations in London. The media strategy targets seasonal shoppers and party goers during the key Christmas drinking period around central London.

The execution itself continues the “Press on” strap line and idea. This time around it’s Christmas and the everyday task that is being made into a heroic feet is Christmas wrapping. It’s a strong insight we can all relate to during the festive season as we battle through the wrapping, covered in sticky tape and running out of paper. The story is told with the cheeky tone of voice that came out so strongly in the TV ad. The execution uses a bold type design and was printed on wrapping paper and then shot to give it an authentic feel.


Billy Faithfull, Creative Director at WCRS said: “Character. It's what makes a man, a woman and a Cider like Westons Stowford Press. And there's nothing more nail bitingly impossible, more frustratingly heroic, more vertigo-inducingly Everest-like, than the task of wrapping Christmas presents - those misshapen knick-knacks you fist-pumped about when you found them on offer at your local/global supermarket giant. But you were blinded by retail hysteria to the truth that they'd be a total dog's mother to wrap, especially at 5.40am Christmas morning. But wrap them you will, to within an inch of their lives. And then you'll call for a pint of Stowford Press, because nothing befits such character than the cool, refreshing, golden, fizzy, characterful goodness of Weston's Stowford Press flagship cider. Thank heavens then, that someone had the foresight and the cajones to write and illustrate a poster with just this task in mind, an ode to the sticky tape, the scissors, the curly ribbon and those men and women who dare to say 'challenge accepted, multi-sided gift'.”
