Shamsul (Shams) Islam (pictured left) is the new head of precision, Wavemaker Asia-Pacific effective 1st June 2022 and Smith Bhatt (pictured right) will be the new head of ecommerce, Wavemaker Asia-Pacific effective 1st July 2022. Both will continue to report to Rose Huskey, chief client officer, Wavemaker Asia-Pacific.
In his new role as a senior leader within the Wavemaker Asia-Pacific consultancy hub, Shams will be chief advocate and expert in performance media, analytics, data & technology. He will also be responsible for defining, developing, and driving best in class Precision strategy and management, through Wavemaker and our clients’ business.
Previously Shams was performance director at Wavemaker Asia-Pacific, overseeing digital excellence across key regional clients and local markets and leading the development of our regional digital centre of excellence and its impact on our clients’ business across the region.

Smith was previously Regional Digital & Ecommerce Lead for clients across Asia. Before this, he was heading the performance & ecommerce practice at Entropia – Accenture where he was responsible for deploying and developing best-in-class tools to implement automation in performance marketing, and consumer journey mapping. He has extensive experience working and managing diverse categories and large clients across the ecommerce, digital & performance spaces. An extension to his previous scope, He will be responsible in driving growth on ecommerce pillars of Strategic Consulting, Product, Store Insights and Growth Marketing. He would continue building & leading Regional ecommerce & Digital Hubs, and driving our ecommerce offering better in the region.
