After a largely successful 2019, Wavemaker Philippines continues its forward momentum with another remarkable victory: Shopee, the Asian equivalent of Amazon, whose reach has expanded to Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and now, the Philippines.
The Singaporean giant recently awarded Wavemaker its media and content business on the strength of the agency’s growing capabilities in e-commerce, and its deep familiarity with the online purchase journey of Filipino consumers.
The contract is for 2020 with the option to extend.
'The agency gave a good impression that among all the other pitchers, they are the best choice to work with given the aggressiveness of the brand and bigness of our campaigns", said Roj Tirona, big campaigns manager- Shopee Philippines.
‘The agency was able to elaborate the media competitive landscape very well, the thinking behind proposed media strategies and others’ he added.
The victory further affirms Wavemaker’s focus on bringing consumer engagement closer to conversion. “We are very excited to work with Shopee. It is a strategic account win, giving us the perfect avenue to follow a constantly-evolving consumer landscape; thus allowing us to accelerate our capabilities in e-commerce,” said Malu Vasallo, CEO of Wavemaker Philippines.
Only two years after its inception, Wavemaker Philippines has already established a firm foothold in the industry, and they show no signs of slowing down.
