In Asia Pacific, Wavemaker opens for business today in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand. Its new country leaders express their thoughts and outlooks on the future:
Wavemaker Bangladesh will be led by Managing Director Morshed Alam and Director Hasan Faruque. Morshed remarked “The name Wavemaker embodies everything we want our new agency to stand for: bringing together the very best of Maxus and MEC and supercharging it.”
Wavemaker Hong Kong will open with a team of over 80 staff led by Managing Director Stanley Ngai. “It reflects our drive to build on top of our foundational media capabilities to bring more content, technology and data solutions to our clients in service of their growth”, he said.
Namalie Herath, Chief Executive Officer of Wavemaker in Sri Lanka said “Wavemaker is an exciting new global agency brand with a powerful proposition for clients with the support of the GroupM’s scale, resources and expertise. We are excited to be a part to fuse a global media powerhouse – just as the Wavemaker name resonates – who we are today and what we intend to become.”
Wavemaker Taiwan opens with more than 100 employees led by Managing Director Cindy Lin. She commented “We have many enormously talented and dedicated people, all of whom have contributed to making our transition and launch a seamless experience for our clients and business partners.”
