Wavemaker Appoints Ali Khan as Managing Director in Pakistan

Wavemaker announces the appointment of Ali Khan-Bajauri to the role of managing director in Pakistan. Ali, who is known as a credible and accomplished business leader, has returned to Pakistan after a 25+ years career with B2B and B2C businesses across North America, Europe and Asia, serving blue chip companies like Nestlé, Engro Corp, MARS and Maple Leaf Foods Canada.

As a seasoned marketer, who has successfully led growth and turnaround phases of international businesses, Ali is well placed to lead the migration of Maxus Pakistan to Wavemaker. While Maxus as an agency was retired globally in Q4 2017 after merging it with MEC to create Wavemaker, in Pakistan MEC was replaced with MediaCom while Maxus remained. The appointment of Ali sees Pakistan fully enter the Wavemaker network, and Ali will report to Rose Huskey, Wavemaker’s South East Asia CEO.

Ali’s immediate focus will be to ensure that Wavemaker in Pakistan is aligned with Wavemaker’s global strategy to positively provoke growth for its clients and people.

Rose Huskey, CEO, South East Asia, Wavemaker, said: “We are delighted to have Ali part of the family and with strong client experience as well as business experience in other regions beyond Asia-Pacific, I am looking forward to seeing the agency soar to greater heights in the near future.”

GroupM CEO Pakistan, Naveed Asghar, added: “I have full confidence in Ali’s ability to be an outstanding leader to Wavemaker as he would add tremendous value to our clients while delivering exceptional service to our wide range of valued domestic and global clients – such as MCB, Servis Group, PTCL, Nestle and Huawei amongst others.”

Ali commented: “On a personal level, this 2020 pandemic year has strengthened my belief that we must show empathy, be kind, be inclusive and be prepared for constant change – and on a professional level it has retaught us that we need to be nimble, be transparent and deliver data-based, creative content/media solutions to a diverse stakeholder base. I am very excited and looking forward to being part of the Wavemaker and GroupM family."
