The7stars has created a campaign for Warner Records UK as the exclusive partner of online rock hub, AmpRockTV, which launches its first full website today.
Launched as a YouTube channel last year, AmpRockTV has amassed over four million views and 12,000 subscribers in just 12 months. Building on this success it is launching as a standalone website to bring rock fans the latest news, exceptional photography, and high quality, original videos from the rock music industry.
AmpRockTV founder, Tim Mattia, is an established music video director, and before starting the YouTube channel, was for four years, a creative force behind some of the best performing video content on the hugely successful NME.com. Having used the YouTube channel in March 2012 to launch his ground-breaking video series, 'The Words' with My Chemical Romance, Marilyn Manson and Korn, Mattia is now taking AmpRockTV to the next level with full editorial.
Mattia comments: “The rock website world is highly fragmented, leaving a space in the market for high quality video content. The7stars is extremely well respected in the music world, with a great roster of clients looked after for by Warner, so they were our first port of call for a launch partner.”
As part of the campaign Warner Records UK artist Biffy Clyro will take over all advertising opportunities across the new website following on from their hugely successful number 1 album ‘Opposites’. Formats will include standard banners, MPUs and bespoke ad slots giving them 100 per cent share of voice on the sites for two weeks following launch.
Sam Stubbings, head of digital at Warner Records UK commented: “The move of AmpRockTV from YouTube to a full website is a significant development for the rock music market. The new site will be a valuable addition and competitor in terms of delivering quality content and editorial for this market – so to be the exclusive partner for this launch is hugely exciting.”
Catrina Dear, account manager at the7stars added: “The market for rock content online is pretty fragmented and the quality of content and the success of AmpRockTV as a You Tube channel means that this launch marks an exciting development in the online rock world. The Warner roster includes the likes of Linkin Park, Deftones and Green Day, so there is a clear synergy between Warner and the editorial content of AmpRockTV. This partnership provides the ideal platform for Warner to reach its core audience.”
