Vox Media Appoints Edwin Wong as Senior Vice President of Media Insights and Innovation

Vox Media announced today that Edwin Wong will join the team on March 25th as the new senior vice president of media insights and innovation, reporting into chief revenue officer, Ryan Pauley. Wong was most recently at Buzzfeed as the SVP of research and insights where he led audience insights, product insights, ad effectiveness, and played an active role as a thought leader in the industry. In his new position with Vox Media, he will be based in Los Angeles with regular travel to the East Coast.

Wong has dedicated the last 15+ years of his career to studying digital consumer behavior, particularly in previous roles at Pinterest, Veoh, and Yahoo. He is a recognized leader in the media industry, speaking at events, such as Omnishopper, Nielsen’s c360, Proxximma Brazil, Mumbrella360 Australia, Digital Summit Atlanta, MediaPost Digital Publisher Summit, and the B2B M.

As senior vice president of media insights and innovation, Edwin will lead an optimization analytics team to expand the existing reporting with a focus on driving outcomes and performance on behalf of their marketing partners. His efforts will spread across Vox Media’s editorial networks and Vox Media’s lines of business, including Concert, Branded Content, Programmatic, Podcasts, Email, Events and Commerce. As media evolves, Edwin will continue to lead the charge in pushing the industry to think differently and innovate when it comes to brand presence, valuable products and services, and building authentic relationships with audiences.
