Volkswagen Trucks Launches Film That Changes According to How You Want to Watch It
Nowadays there are vertical and horizontal videos.

Since Volkswagen Trucks have been pointing out for years that they’re custom-made to fit the needs of their consumers, “The Custom-Made Film," created by AlmapBBDO for the brand, is just that way – custom-made to meet their customers' desires.

If they turn their phones horizontally, people will see one version of the story of George's life. If they watch vertically, they'll see another take on the story. By simply changing the phone's orientation, users can switch between modes, and the story will adapt automatically. 

To make this all possible, the film was shot using a square, 1:1 aspect ratio, with the most important elements always in the middle of the screen. That way, the scenes adjust automatically to horizontal and vertical formats, depending on the movement of the phone, squeezing or stretching the image. Each version has its own screenplay and narration, which follow the two different readings of the story, both produced by Yourmama and Punch Áudio.




At the end of both stories, both versions of George find what they were looking for: trucks custom-made to fit their own specific desires, illustrating the customisability of Volkswagen Trucks.
