Agency works with Kgabo Mametja to reimagine the alphabet for International Women's Day

VMLY&R Spells Out What It Means to be a Fierce Female with 'W is for Woman'

In honour of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month in March, Women@VMLY&R has planned events throughout the month to celebrate and support women everywhere.

The theme for International Women’s Day this year is #ChooseToChallenge. Choose to Challenge highlights the importance of challenging biases and inequality, as well as celebrating women’s achievements. To bring it to life, VMLY&R is launching 'W is for Woman', a campaign that spells out exactly what it means to be a fierce female at VMLY&R. As the agency known for its many letters, this creative reimagines the alphabet — by highlighting one incredible female quality for each of its 26 letters.

The agency partnered with Kgabo Mametja, a creative whose work can be described as bold and unapologetic. The team were especially inspired by Kgabo’s work, and the way her playful yet powerful illustrations embody all kinds of women all over the world, representing all races, ages, body types, abilities and more.

The team has created assets such purchasable T-shirts, alphabet posters and stickers with proceeds going to Girls Supporting Girls.
