VMLY&R announced today it is expanding its already strong public relations capabilities by announcing the hire of Adam Woullard as managing connections director, PR.
In the new role, Adam will be taking on leadership of VMLY&R’s public relations capability, further bolstering and cementing the offering for the agency and its overall growth. His team will work alongside creative teams to build blockbuster ideas garnering earned media for VMLY&R’s rota of leading brands. He will report to Amy Worley, global chief connection officer.
Adam joins VMLY&R from the United States Anti-Doping Agency where he most recently served as director of communications. Prior to that, he was senior vice president at FleishmanHillard for eight years where he developed integrated, award-winning PR campaigns for top brands such as Gatorade. Notable highlights include launching a fresh approach for the brand’s annual heat safety educational campaign, Beat the Heat.
Adam also previously spent seven years as assistant director of Public Relations at the Green Bay Packers where he coordinated national broadcast media, media relations and crisis management.
Beyond his public relations expertise, Adam has been a mentor and a diversity, equity and inclusion advocate throughout his career. He also leveraged his creativity and connections to bring attention to the online harassment of female sports journalists. He’s built a reputation across the industry as a creative thinker, sought-after mentor, and go-to media relations pro.
“We are thrilled to have a renowned PR pro such as Adam joining our team,” said Amy. “Adding Adam’s talents and leadership to our roster will help us further bolster smart, connected creativity that can help our clients’ stories break through.”
“I am excited and humbled to join an organisation that produces incredible work within an inclusive and highly-collaborative environment,” said Adam. “I look forward to working with our proficient PR and Connections teams to deliver top-notch results for our clients.”
Adam was named in PR Week’s 40 Under 40 in 2018.
