For the first-time ever, fans were unable to support their favourite athletes in person at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. So instead, they stepped up and cheered LOUD to support Team USA athletes from afar.
As the Paralympic athletes head to Tokyo for the Paralympic Games beginning on Tuesday, August 24th, Team USA and 72andSunny urge fans to continue their support of these athletes with the fan activation #GoTeamUSA to ensure the athletes feel the love.
Fans are invited to send messages, videos and pictures of support on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #GoTeamUSA.
Responses to #GoTeamUSA are being aggregated (and carefully moderated), then shared with Team USA Olympians and Paralympians on digital screens in the athlete village and training centres in Tokyo (the messages are also being screened for athletes' friends and fam in Orlando). Athletes can also access the fan love on this webpage, which is optimised for mobile.
VP Harris and the Second Gentleman kicked off the activation on @TeamUSA’s social channels, while Kim Kardashian West sent a message of support using #GoTeamUSA, and FLOTUS Jill Biden, Max Crosby and Erik Kendricks are just a few of the notable names who’ve given their support as well.
You're invited to follow along and help support our Paralympians as the games continue through September 5th. Be sure to also send your home-love to the feed using the hashtag #GoTeamUSA!
