Gold trophies and nominees will be awarded to masterpieces of television in 16 categories

Two weeks after the Film Festival, international Jurors will meet in Venice for the Venice TV Award, supported by egta, ACT (Association of Commercial TV) and IMZ (International Music + Media Centre). It will bring national and international recognition for quality content together and celebrate the masterpieces of TV.

TV shows across 16 separate categories will be awarded: TV Series, TV Movie, Performing Arts, Documentary, Light Entertainment, News, Program Promotion, Branded Entertainment, Sports, Children/Youth, Comedy, Reality TV, Best Innovation and Technical Quality, Cross-Platform, Telenovela and New Talent.

“It is a great time to watch TV. An award show like the Venice TV Awards, that recognises and values such entertainment media, is relevant and necessary”, states Karim Bartoletti, executive board member, Italian Association of Production Companies and one of this year’s jurors.

The Venice TV Award competition is open for production companies, broadcaster, cable networks, online platforms, and entities affiliated with the television industry. Entries must have first aired between 1st January 2021 and 20th September 2022. Deadline: June 30th. Early Bird Rate: until 30th April.

In 2021, works from the United Kingdom were the most successful, winning five golden trophies (BBC, Chanel4, Sky and two went to ITV). Globo TV in Brazil also won big, with three gold medals proving that great television knows no borders. Awards for excellence went to a spread of 29 different countries.

“Due to the dedicated work by talented people, the quality of television programming today is better than ever. I am pleased that the Venice TV Award recognises this,” said Sonia Rovai, head of scripted production at Sky Italia.

In the New Talent Category, young creatives from around the world have a platform at the Venice TV Award to show their work to leading international TV experts.

Winner will be announced September 28th.
