Digital creative agency Unfold has hired Paul Caparotta as head of account management and new business, a new position that he will serve out of the agency’s just-opened New York office.
Caparotta started on September 9 and reports to Unfold co-founder/president Daniel Weisinger. His duties include expanding Unfold’s partnerships and providing additional strategic support to existing programs. The agency is known for its ability to quickly create effective motion and static digital and social marketing pieces for Hollywood studios and major blockbusters such as Captain Marvel, A Star is Born and Us. Ultimately, he will help Unfold expand beyond the entertainment realm.
As Unfold made strides in ad tech and creative executions, the shop realised the need to provide more support to clients.
“Over the past year, we’ve expanded our entertainment partnerships and extended into the tech, CPG and sports realms, and a dedicated, senior-level client-services position allows executive management to extend our focus and provide more insight for partners,” Weisinger explained. “We’ve also seen an increasing interest from East Coast companies and establishing an office in the heart of the North American media market shows them that we mean business.”
Before joining Unfold, Caparotta was director of brand partnerships at DraftKings, where he managed deals between video games publishers, their media partners and a group of NYC-based agencies. Before that, he spent eight years as director of sales for CBS Interactive working with sales professionals, video game publishers and agencies to evangelise the awesomeness of GameSpot, GameFAQs, Giant Bomb and other CNET brands through media and branded-content programs.
“Paul has more than 20 years of media experience and has worked on the client, agency and sales side of digital advertising,” said co-founder/ECD Brick Rucker. “He knows the East Coast media landscape extremely well and understands Unfold’s unique vision and ethos.”
