Undertow Media expand PR, Influencer and Social teams with four new hires

Independent PR agency, Undertow Media, has welcomed four new hires across its PR, Influencer and Social divisions after winning several new accounts - both internationally and locally.

Renai Hagstrom joins Undertow Media as senior account manager with a firm focus on earned media and fame moments for the agency’s portfolio that includes Countdown, Logitech, Beam Suntory and luxury subscription and rental business SIXT.

Having spent eight years both in-house and freelancing for brands like Two Islands and Clarins, Undertow is confident she has the experience and connections to drive client growth and ROI within the PR team.

Jess Mayhew, general manager - consumer at Undertow Media, says, “I’ve loved seeing our team grow over the years as we expand our client base and am thrilled to welcome Renai to our team.

“Already demonstrating her comfort in holding court, she has instantly become our office presentation lead, impressing clients and fellow colleagues.”

Alongside Renai, Lily Bryden joins the PR team as account manager after spending several years in-house with the Park Hyatt marketing team, Mishaela Wallan starts as Creative Content Manager coming from Glass Elephant, and Chloe Klink rounds out the foursome as Senior Account Executive, working closely with the influencer relations and social team.

Coming from a brand and digital marketing background for Postie and a stint at CampaignLab, Chloe has already hit the ground running on several extensive influencer campaigns for instax and UE Boom.

The new guard joins at a time the agency celebrates two new promotions, with Kate Mann being promoted to senior account manager and India Josephs becoming a senior account executive.

Greer Bland, founder & managing director of Undertow Media, says “our business has been largely built on word-of-mouth referrals, and despite the obvious environmental challenges of the last couple of years, we’ve had incredible client traction with new and established brands coming through like Better Beer & The Inspired Unemployed, Dulux and Pic’s.

“Our current crew is the best we’ve ever had, and I am excited about adding even more clever communicators to our PR and social teams.”

The team of 15 at Undertow continues to grow with recent new work for Red Seal, GrabOne and Sanitarium.
