This week, the UltraSuperNew Gallery in Tokyo host Digi Salon,
The Digi Salon is an international exhibition of digital creativity co-hosted by MUTEK.JP - International festival of digital creativity and electronic music - and UltraSuperNew Gallery.
The exhibit will feature innovative projects at the intersection of technology, art and music. In addition, several artist talks, live music events, and panel discussions will be held throughout the exhibition period to explore the creative interpretation of new technologies.
Digi Salon will also feature an installation and collection of prints called ‘dyebirth,’ designed and constructed by artist collective, nor. ‘dyebirth’ explores organic patterns through a controlled variable involving digital computations.
Inspired by the works of Ilya Prigogine, a Belgium physicist, who proposed a theory called ‘dissipative structure,’ a concept that theorizes life as an exchange between energy and matters within its surrounding. The installation visualizes the concept by using ink droplets and digitally controlled variables to express the complex idea diversity in life.
nor is a Japanese art collective made up of architects, designers, musicians, engineers, and more. nor pushes creative boundaries by designing installations and products that interweave hardware and software integration.
