This week, the UKMVAs will go ahead as a live virtual awards ceremony with LEAP’s post-production services remaining at the heart of the event. The UK Music Video Awards have been honouring the best of British and global music video making talent since 2008, and LEAP’s moving image team have been part of the celebration from the very beginning.
UKMVA event director Louise Stevens says: “The team at LEAP has outdone itself this year – it’s our biggest show ever in terms of the number of categories and the number of videos they’ve had to manage, but LEAP has delivered a great set of packages with some new design elements for 2020. We may not be able to be together at the Roundhouse this year, but the UKMVA production remains top-notch thanks to our partnership with LEAP”.
Working closely with the UKMVA team and art directors StudioThomson, LEAP’s motion graphics team have created the video packages for over 35 categories and have edited the opening montage. The post-production process has run smoothly thanks to LEAP’s investment in secure virtual server technology and producer-managed remote editing workflows.
Danny Coster, creative director at LEAP says: “We always enjoy the creative collaboration with the UKMVA team. As ever, we are looking forward to celebrating with the talented filmmakers working in music videos at this year’s awards. So, we are delighted to be the sponsor of the Best New Director award, in this extraordinary year, and very special year for the UKMVAs”.
DJ/presenter Becca Dudley will host the 2020 awards with viewers coming together through Innovate Live’s ‘audience virtual wall technology’. Creators and fans of the music video industry can buy tickets by midday Wednesday 4th November for exclusive access to the UKMVAs on November 5th at 7:30 GMT.
