Saatchi & Saatchi and Pampers attempt world’s largest blanket

What do you give the baby that’s bound to have everything? It’s a toughie, but P&G brand Pampers and their agency Saatchi & Saatchi London might have cracked it. They are planning to welcome the impending royal baby into the world with a record-breaking, social media-powered baby blanket.

As the world waits for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to announce the birth of their first child, the nappies brand is offering supporters the chance to get involved with the creation of the world’s largest baby blanket.

Well-wishers can tweet their messages of support for the UK’s newest prince or princess via the hash tag #babyblanket and then watch as it is woven into the blanket via a livestream from the Pampers website. Between the 18th and 21st of July, the blanket will be knitted live at London’s Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd’s Bush.

With every tweet sent, the brand will give a Pampers nappy to the family support charity, Home-Start UK. After the completed blanket is revealed, Pampers will then donate frames from the blanket to children’s hospitals around the UK.
