Stephanie Seligman Balint has been named the new East Coast Executive Producer at
Synthetic Pictures. Balint joins Synthetic’s management team led by Founding Director Justin Corsbie and West Coast and Austin Executive Producer Allison Smith.
Most recently Balint was Executive Producer at design and animation company Scout, but is excited to be back in live-action, working closely with Synthetic’s diverse and growing roster of directors. Balint got her start on the agency side as a producer before making the leap to the production company side, taking the role of Head of Production at Chelsea Pictures.
She then launched the New York office for A Band Apart, where she worked closely with feature directors as they transitioned to commercials. Among the talent she worked with were Steve Buscemi and Tim Burton.
Balint also brings to Synthetic extensive experience in international production, the result of years working with Palma Pictures in Spain. Recognition for Balint’s work includes a Gold Lion for her work for Staples while with Industrial Artists.
“Synthetic has a great foundation on which to build,” Balint says. “They’re fresh and experienced at the same time, which is perfect for the new model of production. I’m looking forward to furthering their relationships with the larger agencies here in New York and along the East Coast. I’m a real film person, so I like being part of a company of true filmmakers. I enjoy working with our clients and directors from concept through completion, keeping the company core value of ‘over-deliver’ as our guiding principle.”
Synthetic EP Allison Smith is thrilled to work side by side with an experienced and respected colleague. “Justin and I both have a long history with New York City, and we felt that we needed someone who was a natural extension of us to help expand our presence there, ” she notes. “Stephanie fits the bill and brings such a vast level of connections and expertise to the table. I have no doubt that our NYC office will continue to grow and thrive under her leadership.”
