‘Train Your Buds’ for Sonic Drive-In’s Breakfast Burrito

Next year is destined to be a year full of flavor at SONIC Drive-In, and they’re planning on getting taste buds everywhere in shape to feel a variety of new flavors, inspired by SONIC’s new Salsa Verde Breakfast Burrito and Breakfast Toaster.® 

“Train Your Buds, with T.J.” takes T.J. Jagodowski of Two Guys fame out of the passenger seat and into the SONIC parking lot, where he coaches routines of signature-flavor fitness moves, like “bacon bends” and “tot squats.” 


A workout series created for SONIC’s Instagram, YouTube and Facebook channels, “Train Your Buds, with T.J.” will launch on the first of January and run through the end of the month. It will break down how SONIC fans can add some kick to their morning routines, starting with the Salsa Verde Breakfast Burritos and Breakfast Toaster.


“New Year’s is a time when we’re all naturally thinking of getting in shape, and we loved the idea of winking at this particular resolution and making it about getting taste buds into shape,” says Margaret Johnson, executive creative director and partner at Goodby Silverstein & Partners. “We just hope people will remember to lift those breakfast burritos with their knees. That’s just proper form.” 


“Train Your Buds” encourages folks to never give up on their New Year’s resolutions, unless one of those resolutions is to quit eating delicious food. SONIC recommends giving that one up immediately.
