Tool of North America Promotes Oliver Fuselier to Managing Partner, Live Action

Tool of North America today announced that it has promoted Oliver Fuselier to the role of Managing Partner, Live Action from Managing Director, Live Action.

In his new role, Fuselier will focus on the global expansion of the company, which recently announced the opening of an office in France, as he continues to curate and support Tool’s acclaimed roster of live action directors. Working alongside Dustin Callif, Managing Partner, Digital, Fuselier has helped drive both the company’s ongoing new business success and growth from existing clients as the company continues to deliver story-driven and engaging experiences.

Since joining Tool in 2011, Fuselier has cultivated a directorial roster that is renowned for pushing the boundaries of innovation with its live action and integrated productions. His recent signings include award-winning directors Phillip Montgomery, who has worked with brands like Jack Daniels, GE and Walmart; Leigh Marling, who has worked with brands like Nissan, Lego and Miller Lite; and Jeff and Jackie Schaffer, creators of FX’s comedy The League.

Fuselier has overseen a steady stream of live-action and interactive projects including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s campaign from Wieden+Kennedy Portland, “Together We Are Stronger,” directed by Tool’s John X. Carey, which is aimed at bringing people together to overcome the challenges of MS. Additionally, Fuselier’s acclaimed integrated activations include “Drivers Seat,” a VR-driven project for Infiniti, and work for brands such as Land Rover, Chrome, Spotify, Microsoft, Go Daddy, Under Armour, MINI and Airbnb’s first ever broadcast campaign. Fuselier is also responsible for spearheading Tool’s first independent feature film, NORTH. He currently sits on the west board of the AICP and has won awards including Emmys, Webbys, CLIOs, VMAs, the AICP Next Award, and awards from the FWA and SXSW.

“At Tool, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most creative and passionate minds in the business, each of whom are champions of our mission: to tell great stories at the pace of culture and innovation,” said Oliver Fuselier, Managing Partner, Live Action. “This incredible talent has allowed us to achieve strong growth across our live action, digital, VR and experiential practices. I’m excited for what this momentum means for Tool as we continue to expand globally.”

“Since founding Tool over 20 years ago, I’ve always looked for smart people with incredible passion for the business. Oliver is the embodiment of this spirit, which has been the driving force behind the growth of our live action roster," said Erich Joiner, Director and Founder of Tool of North America.

This news follows the recent appointment of Julia Sourikoff as Head of VR & 360, a newly created role for Tool, as the company continues to bolster its expertise in the medium.
