TONIC DNA Acquires nGenious Studio

Tonic DNA is proud to announce the addition of Eric Gervais-Despres as head of R&D and pipeline development. Additionally, Tonic DNA has acquired all of the assets and intellectual property of Gervais-Després’ brainchild, nGenious Studio. Gervais-Després has an impressive track record, he worked for nearly five years at Disney as technical director on the film Tarzan, among others and most recently actively collaborated on KATAK, which is currently the most successful Quebec-produced film of 2023. Tonic DNA now has access to a production foundation capable of tackling series or films in 3D animation.

This acquisition is part of a planned strategy to allow Tonic to position itself well in the emergence of mixed 3D/2D animation. Eric, as passionate about 2D animation as 3D, will actively work to define the optimal approach with respect to our pipeline needs.
