Tim Cook Trolls Twitter as Apple Takes On Mission Impossible

A sprint through Apple’s California campus in this fun opening film for the Apple CEO’s keynote
Apple’s annual announcement events are always a big deal, with CEO Tim Cook’s keynote speech building excitement around the company’s new products and updates. Yesterday was no different, as the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4 all announced.

Cook’s speech is always preceded by a piece of film, but this year, thanks to a trolling Tweet by Cook himself, it appeared that not all was going to plan. Moments before he was meant to take the stage at the Steve Jobs Theater, the Cook tweeted out was was ‘meant’ to be a direct message to every one of his followers and the rest of the world.

It read: “No. Who can get it here quickly?” The tweet was deleted shortly after but the internet had fully fallen for his prank by that point, bloggers awash with debate about what he could possibly need just minutes before his biggest event of the year.

Enter Alison, Tim’s saviour and star of Apple’s September 2018 keynote opening film. She sprints across what seems like the entirety of Apple’s sprawling San Francisco campus, ignoring Siri to run through water, getting caked in mud, falling off a bicycle and traversing steps and walls before making it to Tim just in time.

Check out the film below to see what Cook needed so badly.

And check out Apple’s round-up film of what was announced during the event.
