The evolution of Thinkingbox continues as the company expands into a new 10,000 sq. ft. office space in Vancouver’s historic Gastown. The new space will act as the HQ for the organization and a production hub for their West Coast operation.
When deciding on a new location, Thinkingbox wanted a space that embraced their energetic, upstart beginnings while allowing room for expansion. Versatility of spaces was also important to address Thinkingbox’s collaborative work style and creative environment. Believing in balance, the new office does not only feature integrated work spaces for its different departments, but also elements to allow the team to interact in a playful way, including a PlayStation 4, ping pong and foosball tables, and a diverse movie and vinyl collection - all backdropped by graffiti-covered walls.
Located at 319 West Hastings Street, the new office boasts an open-concept work area featuring exposed brick, raw wood desks, and a number of seating areas where staff can discuss upcoming projects or simply hang out. “Our team was growing so rapidly we were beginning to feel cramped in our other space,” notes Amir Sahba, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. “This new location gives us room to work comfortably and to continue growing in size as our business continues to thrive.”
Thinkingbox Vancouver currently has 35 full time staff and are looking to fill an additional 10 positions at present. While some of the hires will be Creative talent, the focus will be on further growing the company’s Software Development and Production teams.
Troy Graham, Director of Content and Creative, reflects on the recent move: “It feels like we’re finally home and have a space that is not only functional, but is unique and represents the creativity that has allowed Thinkingbox to grow. The space itself is really reflective of who we are as people and as a company.”
