A new deck of digital cards explains the NFL in a way that ‘actual’ football (soccer) fans will understand.
César Rodd, a Spanish copywriter who works for VMLY&R in London, has struggled being an NFL fan in Europe. “People around me get together and watch the Super Bowl without any idea how the game works, confused, indulging in junk food,” he says. But people in Europe know how soccer (or “actual football”, as César calls it) works.
So he teamed up with Madrid-based art director Jade Arroyo and created a deck of cards to help those poor souls enjoy the event and not just the deep-fried goods. And we did it by using actual football analogies and similes.

With the Super Bowl around the corner, it might be time to study up – or at least learn a few phrases that will help you blag it.
