Emmy Award-winning LA-based post production company Therapy Studios lends its talents to complete colour correction and audio mixing for T.J. Miller’s first-ever HBO comedy special, Meticulously Ridiculous. The Funny or Die-produced special, which debuted on June 17th, features the comic/Silicon Valley actor/movie star in an all-new stand-up performance taped on September 2016 at the Paramount Theater in Miller’s hometown of Denver.

Throughout Meticulously Ridiculous, Miller aims his uniquely absurd viewpoint at nightmares, the differences between smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, and of course, death. Therapy colourist Omar Inguanzo provided a consistently smooth palette that makes each drop of water on the increasingly drenched comedian stand out to the viewer, while Larry Winer’s spot-on audio mix ensures each joke and audience reaction is perfectly captured.

The comedy special continues the creative relationship between Therapy Studios and T.J. Miller, as well as Funny or Die and HBO. Therapy previously helped to craft the idiosyncratic brand of comedy behind The Gorburger Show on Comedy Central, and completed post for his Slim Jim campaign (featuring Miller as Greg the Slim Jim Genie) for FOD. Additionally they co-produced and posted the HBO show Sonic Highways, and worked on Tig Notaro’s comedy special with FOD and HBO.

“We were of course psyched to be able to help out on T.J.’s new comedy special for Funny Or Die and HBO” says Therapy Studios Executive Producer Joe DiSanto. “T.J. is hilarious, and is definitely one of sharpest comic minds of our generation.”

Founded in 2006 by Executive Producers Joe DiSanto and John Ramsay, VFX artist Wren Waters, and editor Doobie White, Therapy Studios foments creativity and collaboration, and even took home two Emmy Awards for their work on the HBO docu-series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, produced by sister company, Therapy Content.
