Forms joint venture with world renowned agencies

The Works Wins Global Duties for Jim Beam

Sydney-based agency The Works is forming a joint venture with two of the world’s most prestigious and awarded advertising agencies after winning a global pitch for Jim Beam.

The Works will partner with StrawberryFrog in the US and Germany’s Jung von Matt to manage the international account of Jim Beam after it pitched together and beat off competition from international networks.

The new venture to be called FutureWorks will see the three agencies, all of which are incumbent Jim Beam agencies in their respective markets, collaborate to produce the first ever global marketing campaign for the world’s number one bourbon whisky.

Damian Pincus, creative partner and founder of The Works said: “Winning the global account for Jim Beam is the culmination of nearly ten years of working with the brand for us. We have gradually increased our activity on the account over the years and now we have the biggest opportunity of all, the chance to play a major role in its first global campaign.

“The win shows that you don’t need to be an international network to win international business. Geography is no longerimportant when it comes to advertising but great ideas told well remains thegold standard.”

Jung von Matt was founded in 1991 and has offices in Austria and Switzerland. It was named Independent Agency of the Year at the Cannes International Advertising Festival in 2010 and in 2012 picked up the Grand Prix in Outdoor at Cannes for ‘Invisible Drive’ on behalf of Mercedes-Benz.
StrawberryFrog opened its doors in 1999 as the world’s first movement marketing agency. Its vision is to be a small and flexible but with a global perspective. It has offices in Amsterdam, Sao Paulo and Mumbai and works with clients including Emirates Airlines, Heineken andFrito-Lay.

On the joint venture, Pincus added: “All three agencies worked extremely closely and collaboratively to win the business. Through the joint venture we’ll bring Jim Beam’s vision for a global marketing platform to life. We look forward to partnering with two of the most highlyregarded and critically acclaimed shops in the world in what we hope will bethe start of productive partnership.”

Work on the global campaign will start immediately.
