The VENICE TV AWARD 2021 has announced that it is now open for entries. Gold trophies and nominees will be awarded in 16 categories.
Two weeks after the film festival, international jurors will meet in Venice for the VENICE TV AWARD, supported by egta, ACT (Association of Commercial TV) and IMZ (International Music + Media Centre). It will bring national and international recognition for quality content, celebrating the masterpieces of TV.
Jury member Karim Bartoletti, executive board member Italian Association of Production Companies, and partner / executive producer of Indiana Production, comments: "TV today has become the evolution of cinema for its quality, entertainment value and its originality. An award show like the Venice TV Awards that recognises and values such entertainment media, is surely relevant and necessary.“
Submissions can be made in the following categories: Documentary, News, Light Entertainment, Program Promotion, Branded Entertainment, Sport, Children/Youth, Comedy, Performing Arts, Reality TV, Best Of Technical High Quality, Cross-Platform Programming, Best Talent, Best Series, Best TV Movie.
The jury panel is made up of experts with a strong contribution to the global world of TV, among others are: Sonia Rovai - head of scripted production at Sky Italia; Rohit Gupta - president at Sony Pictures Network India, André Takeda - Vice President Creative Services Disney; Sasha Breslau, Head of Content Acquisitions, ITV; Lothaire Burg, Coordinateur auprès de la Direction de production, Directeur créatif, ARTE; Michael Gray, Producer, BBC; Bonolo Modisakwane, Account Executive Content Distribution,ViacomCBS Networks Africa; Macie Imperial, Vice President, Integrated Acquisitions & International Sales &, Distribution at ABS-CBN.
The award is seen as a statement that the TV Industry remains active, successful and creative in a changing media landscape and underlines the continued global appeal of TV. It brings us together. It comforts and connects. It also lets us escape. Even in turbulent times shows are keeping us informed and entertained.
Outstanding work was rewarded last year from United Kingdom, Germany, India, France, USA, China, Singapore, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic, Spain, Austria, Lithuania, New Zealand, Croatia, Australia, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, South Africa.
Entries must have been aired for the first time between 1st of January 2020 and 20th of September 2021.
The Venice International TV Award competition is open for production companies, broadcasters and entities affiliated with the television industry.view more - Awards and Events
