The Public House Offers Staff Extra Vacation Days to Get Covid-19 Vaccines

Independent agency The Public House is offering all employees an extra day off after they get their Covid-19 vaccine. 

The idea was created in part to help employees recover from any post-jab symptoms they might experience, but more so in response to the growing trend of vaccine hesitancy in Ireland and around the world. 

Similar nudge tactics have been trialled in the past, with some companies offering more annual leave to non-smoking employees to incentivise quitting. 

The Public House is hoping that other companies around the world do the same in order to encourage vaccination uptake. 

Colin Hart, agency founder and creative director said “Everyone has been working so hard in some of the most challenging professional circumstances. Finally we’re starting to get our vaccinations and to add to the pain of work, it’s pretty sore. So the least we can do is give our team a day off after to relax and pretend that their arm isn’t falling off. We hope this becomes some sort of standard for industry. Unfortunately it won’t become an annual holiday at The Public House!”.
