Photoplay Photography has announced three additions to its remarkable roster: vibrant photographer Sarah Adamson (right), senior producer Belinda Blooman and internationally awarded photographer Adam Ferguson (left).
Ferguson’s work is grounded in intimate, humanistic storytelling spanning portraiture, reportage, and advertising. His appreciation for the human, emotive heart of every story comes from decades of shooting across the world. An Australian photographer who also spends time in the US, Ferguson’s impressive list of publications includes work for Time magazine, National Geographic and Vanity Fair and he was named Photographer of the Year by Photo District News in 2018 amongst many other awards. Adam is currently working at the US Mexico border for The New York Times and then travels throughout the southwest of the US working on a climate change project for Time Magazine, before returning home to Sydney this July.
Adamson’s creative flair and zeal for perfectly styled authenticity has made her one of Sydney’s most sought-after photographers. With the perfect mix of good humour and fashion flair, her imagery is a vibrant expression of what she loves in life. Her work spans advertising, content, portraits, editorial and motion. As a multi-disciplinary creative, Adamson’s deep involvement in every stage of her projects ensures each image is imbued with her sense of joy and creativity. While her inimitable ‘behind-the-lens’ personality gives her imagery a candid intimacy that sets her apart from her peers. Her recent campaigns include work for Nike, Westfield, Wrigley’s and just launched Kathmandu.
Blooman is an accomplished producer with immeasurable experience; coming from six years as a senior producer for Union Management, where she focused on fashion, advertising, portraiture, beauty and still life, and before that fifteen years at The Names Agency, one of Sydney’s foundational photographic agencies. Blooman has acquired a deep understanding of every aspect of the profession which is informed by both her love of photography and years of travel and living abroad.
Says Blooman: “I am thrilled to continue pursuing my passion for photography at Photoplay. It’s such a pleasure to work with wonderful like-minded people who have a genuine enthusiasm for imagery, incredibly impressive production skills and are great fun as well.”
Alison Lydiard, executive producer at Photoplay Photography notes her pleasure at acquiring such outstanding talent for the rapidly expanding company: “We’re so very pleased that Adam, Belinda and Sarah have joined the team. They’re a perfect mix of talent, creativity and inspiration and will add tremendous depth and experience to our roster.”
