The One Club, the foremost non-profit organisation recognising creative excellence in advertising and design, launched its entry system today, which can be found at
www.oneshow.org. The system added vertical categories and a moving image craft discipline while retaining the quarterly format introduced last year.
“Not all clients are created equal, and it becomes challenging to judge something like pharmaceutical advertising against sports apparel or automotive,” said Yash Egami, vice president of content and marketing at The One Club. “This new structure makes it a more even playing field for our judges to benchmark quality.”
The complete list of more than 20 verticals, including automotive, consumer packaged goods and sports/fitness, can be found at
www.oneshow.org.
The One Club also introduced a moving image craft discipline, whose categories are as follows: writing, editing, cinematography, animation, visual effects, sound design, use of original music, use of licensed/adapted music, and innovation.
“Our juries often wrestle with what makes a piece of work great: Was it the idea or the execution?” added Mr. Egami. “This discipline will emphasise work that excels in creative and skillful execution using a particular craft.”
The quarterly system divides the entry periods into four deadlines, beginning in July and ending with the usual final deadline at the end of January. The first quarter deadline is July 29; the second is September 30; the third is December 2; and the fourth and final deadline is January 27.
Last year, The One Show received more than 20,000 entries from 69 countries.
