The One Club for Creativity has announced a partnership with McKinney, The Republik, The Variable, BooneOakley and EP + Co to establish The One Club for Creativity Carolinas as an official chapter.
The chapter will operate in roundtable fashion featuring district chiefs. McKinney CCO Jonathan Cude will head the chapter’s Raleigh-Durham district. Other district chiefs are Joe Parrish, partner, The Variable in Winston-Salem, David Oakley, president/CCO, BooneOakley in Charlotte and Con Williamson, president/CCO, EP+Co in Greenville. Robert Shaw West, chairman/CEO at The Republik will serve as chapter president.
“When The One Club approached McKinney about forming a Carolinas chapter, we were quick to jump on board," said Cude. “As a longstanding corporate sponsor, we’re excited to help the club establish an official presence here in our neck of the woods. We welcome Kevin and his entire team to the Carolinas.”
“No other organisation gives back to the advertising and design industries with our level of comprehensive educational and development programming on a global basis,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club for Creativity. “The Carolinas have long been home to a vibrant creative community, and we’re thrilled to work with Robert and these five stellar agencies to create an active and productive chapter.”
The new chapter will help foster The One Club’s mission by hosting speaker events throughout the year. The first event will be hosted by McKinney in Durham on August 1st, 2019, and will feature Vann Graves, executive director, VCU Brandcenter, speaking on the topic 'Let’s End Diversity Theater: It’s Time to Get Real'.
Subsequent chapter meetings will take place through the rest of the year in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and Greenville, South Carolina. Featured guests include Michael Duda, managing partner, Bullish, hosted by The Variable in Winston-Salem on September 18, and Kristen Cavallo, CEO, The Martin Agency, hosted by BooneOakley in Charlotte on October 16. Plans for a November event hosted by EP + Co in Greenville will be determined at a later date.
In addition to speaker events, the new chapter will connect up-and-comers with industry vets through mentorship, produce a collection of renowned and original projects, and bring even the wildest of ideas to life - all in the name of keeping creativity alive and well.
