Kris Smale and Nubia Lima join the team

Technicolor Creative Studios’ The Mill has announced the addition of two new senior members to its colour grading team, servicing the Mid-west advertising market.

Previously at MPC and then The Mill’s Los Angeles studio, Kris Smale joins the growing Chicago team as colourist. Having been part of the award-winning Technicolor Creative Studios colour team for over a decade, Smale has collaborated with notable directors such as Stacy Wall, Shawn Levy and Bryan Buckley for global brands including Toyota, Apple, and Verizon.

Nubia Lima joins the Chicago studio as colour producer from Brazilian media conglomerate TV Globo, where she was a video content producer. Throughout her diverse career, Lima has worked on long and shortform projects from reality television to documentary work, feature film and commercials. Her creative highlights include global campaigns for UNICEF, documentary work for The History Channel, and unscripted shows for VH1.

Tracey Khan, managing director of The Mill Chicago comments: “We are beyond thrilled to have Kris and Nubia join the team here in Chicago. Bringing his LA style to the Mid-West is super exciting and we cannot wait to see what Kris can do here. He has such a wonderful range of work on this reel, and we are excited about him bringing his talents and expertise to the Chicago market.

"Nubia is a welcome addition to the colour team, with a creative sensibility and air about her that artists, clients and creatives will love. With strong production roots in Brazil and the flare and passion for diverse creative work, we are excited about the new opportunities she can help generate for our Chicago team.”
