The production company and sustainable mattress brand join forces to educate children on the importance of sustainability
Production studio The Mill and Avocado Green Mattress have partnered over a shared commitment to sustainability to develop a children’s book called The Little Blue Planet. With the aim of educating children and families on how to live more environmentally sustainable lives, The Little Blue Planet tells the story of climate change and highlights the importance of looking after the earth we live on.
Written, illustrated and published by The Mill, the book will be distributed with every purchase of a sustainable Avocado Green Mattress. The book will also be on sale via Amazon, with 100% of the profits going towards 1% for the Planet; a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through memberships and everyday actions.
The book has a verified net-zero carbon footprint and uses soy-based inks on 100% Post Consumer Waste (PWC) recycled paper.
The jacket is removable, revealing an educational poster that can be pinned up in classrooms or at home to educate families on ways they can encourage sustainable living, such as through composting, shopping locally and going plastic-free.
The Little Blue Planet is part of a wider campaign developed by The Mill for Avocado Green Mattress, that features several brand films and a documentary currently in production. The children’s book is based on a brand film titled ‘Bedtime Story’ written and produced by The Mill’s Anais La Rocca and Eve Grissinger, who also authored the The Little Blue Planet.
