“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller’s famous quotation has been rattling round our heads quite a bit this week as we readied ourselves to announce a collaboration that marks an exciting new stage in Little Black Book’s evolution. We’ve teamed up with Campaign Brief to strengthen our presence in Australia and New Zealand. But more importantly, it’s a collaboration that we reckon will give the awesome advertising talent from these markets a global platform to reach out to their own set of creative co-conspirators/collaborators and clients from around the world.
The new partnership (which you can read about here) will see Campaign Brief represent Little Black Book locally and was born out of a long-standing friendship between the two of us. As CB publisher Michael Lynch mentioned in the official press release, we see each other so frequently throughout the year that personal and professional friendships were inevitable – and we’re excited that we’ve found a way to turn friendly rivalry into a productive and ambitious new alliance.
We’re well aware that the news might raise a few eyebrows but, well, that’s never really bothered us. Collaboration has always been a cornerstone of the advertising industry, from the inseparable art director/copywriter duos to the unexpected pairings of traditional talents and tech heads that characterizes adland’s innovation era. This particular team up, we think, represents two brands that love the creative industries and want to help these exciting companies flourish at both a local and global level. Michael and his team have an incomparable understanding of the intricacies of the Australian and New Zealand markets and we’re pretty hyped to be working together.
It also paves the way for more events and other projects; we’re looking forward to bringing our academies to the Southern Hemisphere and Matt will be heading to Sydney in November.
In the coming weeks and months we’ll be announcing more developments and partnerships, so watch this space. As 2015 enters the final stretch, we’re gearing up for 2016 and we reckon it’ll be our most exciting year yet.
