The Immortal Awards has today unveiled the shortlist for the inaugural MEA competition, ahead of the virtual round of judging on Tuesday 20th October.
In total, 30 projects from across the region made this year’s shortlist. The 30 highest scoring pieces of work from the first round of judging will be debated in a virtual round of discussions to determine which projects, if any, will receive Finalist status and go through to the final, global round of judging in November.
It is in the final round of judging when projects may be awarded Immortal or Commendation status. So far,
seven projects are through to the final round of judging following the conclusion of the LATAM jury session. The North American finalists will be announced on Wednesday 21st October, followed by the MEA finalists on Monday 26th October.
Entries to this year’s Immortal Awards were up 50% globally, with entries received from 52 countries.
Those on the first-ever MEA jury are Tahaab Rais, regional head of strategy at FP7 McCann, Ali Rez, regional executive creative director of Impact BBDO, Prerna Mehra, head of design and creative director of MullenLowe MENA, Tsesliso Rangaka, executive creative director of FCB Joburg, Makosha Maja-Rasethaba, partner and head of strategy at M&C Saatchi Abel Johannesburg, and Ramzi Ibrahim, creative director of Cheil Worldwide Dubai.
Work that is awarded Finalist status by the jury on Tuesday, therefore qualifying for the global round of judging on November 20th, will be announced on Monday 26th October.
