The agency of the year was Energy BBDO Chicago, receiving five Gold Medals

The awards season kicks into gear with the announcement of the The Golden Award of Montreux 2019 winners. The awards has, since 1989, commenced the global season for awarding creative excellence. For the winners, points are up for grabs in national and international ranking lists.

41 Gold Medals were awarded in ten categories: Media, Digital, Film, Direct, Design, Outdoor, Print, Event, Corporate Film and Talent. The agency of the year was Energy BBDO Chicago, receiving five Gold Medals. The "85-Year-Old Regret" for Mars was rewarded three times in Digital, Media and TV.

Two other Gold Medals were awarded to "Wonderful Weather Alerts" for Bayer in Media and "The Curious Afterlife of a Tin" for Mars in Print.

Serviceplan/plan.net Germany won three Gold with "Say it With Sky" in Digital and Creative Use of Media, and with "Dot Mini" and "Featuring Alexa" in Digital.

The Golden Award of Montreux only awards Gold prizes - there is no Silver or Bronze.

The award jury 2019 consisted of 30 personalities from 21 countries. Among them are CEOs of advertising agencies, creative directors, global marketing and communication managers of international clients, and media designers.

Jury Chairs were, among others: Luis Silva Dias, chief creative officer, FCB International, Izabella Cabral, global associate creative director, TBWA/Worldwide, Frank Bodin, president art directors club Switzerland, Joaquin Salim, ACD, BBDO New York, Davide Boscacci, group creative director, Leo Burnett Turin, Avital Pinchevsky, SVP/ECD, FCB Chicago, Adam Kerj, chief creative officer, Accenture Interactive Nordics, Ajay Chandwani, president and creative director, Percept H, India.

The Golden Award of Montreux honours companies and individuals responsible for the creation of excellent advertising, multimedia and events within the cultural surroundings of television and music festivals, reflecting that communication is part of the global world of creativity.

The Golden Award is an independent forum committed to improving the standard of creative excellence now and in future, in cooperation with the Institute for Future Science. It celebrates the contribution that innovative creative work makes to build brands, developed in conjunction with adforum.com.
