The creative director design at Wunderman Thompson Germany shares his experience co-funding two record labels, his favorite beverages and his endless love of music
Jan-Kristof Lipp is an interdisciplinary creative & design director at Wunderman Thompson based in Berlin, specializing in branding, visual identities, creative design strategies and concept design.
With over 18 years of design experience for international brands and clients (Uniqlo, Beiersdorf, Baume et Mercier, Panasonic, Bayer, BMW), he creates new holistic design experiences. Jan was lead designer of the international MINI brand relaunch in 2015, which defined the current flat design logo trend and the Beyond Car category in the automotive sector.
Jan started, before studying at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Fons Hickmann, as Junior Art Director at Gestalten Verlag, where he created the record cover of German Hip Hop artist Peter Fox. In 2008, Jan joined the German-language ADC award-winning media, tech and music print magazine "De:Bug", which he accompanied from then on as art director.
He joined KKLD, which became Wunderman Thompson after a merge, in 2013.

Musician: Music is super important to me. What I listen to usually depends very much on the genre. Somewhere between stoner rock, dub techno, deep house and older drum'n'bass. If I give each genre an artist: Kyuss, Maurizio, Losoul, Calibre. At the moment I'm listening to the new EP by Daphni: Mania.
