The Diner announces that Charlie Cervone has been promoted as the company’s new creative licensing director. In his expanded role, Cervone will be leading The Diner's licensing and marketing efforts in all territories.

"Charlie has been instrumental in the growth and evolution of The Diner during our catalogue refresh and rebranding over the past year. He has a sharp musical mind, he’s a gifted communicator, and he’s truly dedicated to addressing the individual needs of our clients. He’s a huge asset to our team,” says Diner creative director Christian Celaya.

Charlie will be working closely with the creative team to continue to satisfy client requests as well as advance opportunities in the advertising, film, TV, and trailer industries.

“I’m excited about this opportunity and humbled to be working with one of the most creative and inspiring teams in the production music business,” said Cervone.

Cervone has been with The Diner since 2016, starting as creative licensing Coordinator, East Coast.  In 2018, Cervone assumed a new role as licensing and business development manager, North America, wherein he was tasked with expanding clientele and pursuing licensing opportunities nationwide. Of note in the past year, Cervone has earned placements with brands including E*Trade, Mercedes, Royal Canin, USAA, and Apple Beats.

“Charlie has been a key team member for us since day one,” says president of The Diner and The Music Playground Sydney Ferleger. “He’s put so much passion and hard work into our ever-evolving company vision and we’re thrilled to be further expanding his role.”

Prior to joining The Diner team, Cervone worked in music publishing at Universal Music Publishing Group in New York City where he administered UMPG's vast audio archive, designed and ran the NYC writer studios, and served on the creative team managing a roster of UMPG songwriters. Cervone is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and is also an accomplished live and session bassist, having performed with a variety of up-and-coming and major-label artists throughout his career, including Gloria Gaynor, Phil Collen (Def Leppard), N.O.R.E, Bazaar Royale, Kevin Hammond, Johnny Marnell, and AM Gold Yacht Rock Party, among others.

“Creatively, The Diner has never been stronger,” says Cervone. “From new releases by a growing list of well-known artists and composers in our Diner Collaborator Series, to powerful new catalog partnerships, there is a ton in store for 2023. I’m honored to be able to raise production values for our clientele with music of this caliber, now on a global scale.”
