Global initiative aims to deliver products and services to help improve lives of low-income households

The Creative Engagement Group Collaborates with TRANSFORM to Improve Lives in Africa and Asia

The Creative Engagement Group (TCEG) has announced they have become a partner of TRANSFORM - a unique global initiative which supports social entrepreneurs in Africa and South Asia to deliver products and services that help improve the lives of low-income households.

TRANSFORM is an award-winning UK public-private sector collaboration between the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Unilever and EY. It works to support early-stage social entrepreneurs, blending funding and bespoke business support to businesses who help low-income households meet their everyday needs. The initiative has supported 61 projects in 13 countries and positively impacted the lives of over six million people. TRANSFORM entrepreneurs are creating new solutions to provide safe drinking water through water ATMs in Bangladesh, delivering feminine hygiene products discreetly in Kenya and are recycling plastics in India.

The relationship between TCEG and TRANSFORM started six months ago with its Behavioural Science Unit providing advisory services for several innovative and award-winning social enterprise solutions across Kenya. A key part of TCEG’s ESG commitment is providing its employees with opportunities to give back in lots of different ways. This new partnership enables TCEG employees to contribute a diverse range of consulting, creative and production skills and positively impact the lives of communities around the world.

Richard Wright, sustainable behaviour director at Unilever and one of TRANSFORM’s founding members, says: “Storytelling is a vital and often overlooked tool in development. Humans want to emotionally connect and need to feel the personal impact behind the numbers. In partnership, The Creative Engagement Group and TRANSFORM can bring to life the incredible stories of the entrepreneurs solving the world’s toughest development challenges and the tremendous impact their work has on the households they serve.”

Lauren Ince, chief growth officer at The Creative Engagement Group, comments: “At The Creative Engagement Group, we create experiences that inspire lasting change for our clients. Our partnership with TRANSFORM is an ideal opportunity to use the talent from across the ‘consult’ and ‘create’ parts of our business to play a small role in inspiring lasting change on behalf of these early-stage social entrepreneurs as they aim to solve some of the world largest problems.”

Guy Champniss, PhD, head of behavioural science at The Creative Engagement Group says: “Becoming a partner of TRANSFORM with its focus on sustainable behaviour change demonstrates the commitment of The Creative Engagement Group to leverage its behavioural science expertise for good. TRANSFORM is a truly global effort, focused squarely on delivering innovative solutions to many of our most pressing issues. We’re immensely proud to be a part of that effort to shape, deliver and validate sustainable innovation and behaviour change programmes on the world stage.”
