The Creative Circle accelerates its pledge to celebrate Britain’s diversity of talent by moving its awards show to London’s East End. Edith Bowman will present the event taking place on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 at Troxy. With a 50m red carpet and an exciting music act to be announced, the night promises more glamour and thrill than ever before.
The show is set to be Creative Circle’s biggest celebration of UK creatives and an explosive event at the fashionable, heritage-steeped venue. “The move to Troxy means more attendees and bigger celebrations for the annual gathering of the UK creative community.” Explains Creative Circle Managing Director, Jeremy Green.
The decision to move comes under Creative Circle President Vicki Maguire’s daring 2018 declaration that tells creatives ‘Don’t enter if you’re in it for the title’ or ‘want your arse licked’. The anarchic manifesto champions those who stand proud and ‘don’t fit in’ to the traditional advertising industry.
2018 also marks a special year for the show, as the Creative Circle Foundation Charity formally opened its doors to address the imbalance of diversity in the UK creative departments. The advertising school offers free full-time courses for students from underprivileged backgrounds and all profits from this year’s events well as 10% of all entry fees will go towards supporting the next generation of diverse creatives.
The Troxy makes for an apt setting for the creative celebration of diverse talents with a renowned legacy for being England’s biggest cinema. The venue’s heritage was sealed in 1991 when the art deco building was Grade II-listed. Its original deco interior was brought back to full glamour in 2014, with an 18-month renovation. The first film it ever screened was King Kong and has since gone on to host music and film’s biggest names and even the Royal Family.
With such a diverse creative history, Creative Circle Managing Director Jeremy Green feels Troxy is the perfect place to host the 2018 awards: “Not only is the Troxy an impressive venue in its own right, its history of film, design and music are the perfect backdrop to celebrate creative work across these fields – particularly poignant with the addition of our music video category this year.”
Sponsored by Curious Productions and Shrager Creative, Creative Circle welcome the UK’s talent to celebrate a year of creativity, from students to businesses, the event is open to all with a range of ticketing options.
