The BRAVES is the first global awards programme to use Aurasma Augmented Reality technology to promote category entries in its latest marketing drive.
Visitors to the Festival of Media Global in Montreux, Switzerland, were able to unlock exclusive promotional content within each of the life-sized BRAVES characters by using the Aurasma app. The Festival of Media Global was attended by almost 700 of the world’s most senior global marketers who could witness Campaign, Content and Technical Brave promote the three entry categories to the world's first awards programme that celebrates exclusively the best work in all aspects of the video universe. Each of the characters unlocked their own short promotional animation that listed the individual awards within the category. At the end of the animation, viewers could click through to the BRAVES website for more detailed entry information.
The Aurasma-enable BRAVES characters will be making a number of appearances at media events over May and June 2012, including the IAB Digital Download event on Friday 27 April and the Cannes Lions advertising festival in June.
About Aurasma
Aurasma is a radical piece of technology that represents the future of how we use our mobile devices by bringing the physical and virtual worlds together for the first time.
Available on smartphones, the app was created out of technology that is capable of recognising images, symbols and objects in the real world and understanding them. It can then deliver relevant content in real time, including videos, animations, audio or webpages. (www.aurasma.com)
