Sony/ATV songwriters Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett announced in the running

Sony\ATV's Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Thomas Rhett have received nominations at the 53rd Country Music Association Awards.

Church has received three nominations for the 53rd annual event, including for Album of the Year, which he won in 2012 for Chief and in 2016 for Mr. Misunderstood. He is in the running this time for Desperate Man with the other contenders including Sony/ATV’s Thomas Rhett for Center Point Road.

Church is also competing in the prestigious Entertainer of the Year category, while his song “Some Of It” is nominated for Video of the Year alongside Sony/ATV signing Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country”.

Rhett picks up another nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year, while Sony/ATV songwriters Greg Kurstin and Sarah Aarons are in the running for Song of the Year for co-penning Maren Morris’s hit “Girl”. The other songs nominated include Kacey Musgraves’ “Rainbow”, which was co-written by Sony/ATV songwriter Natalie Hemby.

Having won in each of the last nine years, Miranda Lambert is nominated once again for Female Vocalist of the Year, a category which also features fellow Sony/ATV songwriter Kelsea Ballerini.

The CMA Awards will take place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on November 13 and will be televised live in the U.S. by ABC.
